    1. The articles that I have read where about the recent increase on alcoholic beverage taxes. The way I would relate this to us history class would be the prohibition from 1919 to 1933. The tax increase was dependent on the alcohol content. For instance at 100 baht per litter which is the maximum rate of 100% alcohol there is a tax of 60% of the value. The tax money will go towards helping the disabled and go towards our education. The tax increase was proposed by the finance ministry. The tax increase though was also on some Tabaco products as well. The Tabaco tax is said to help keep underage smokers from starting to smoke or to get addicted. This connects to the prohibition because one of the main reasons was to improve the lives of Americans the same goes for the sharp increase of the beverage tax. One way these two events connect is that people found ways to get around it such as moon shine. Another way these two events are connected is by the fact that both are a government test as you already know the prohibition failed. The last way these two events connect is that there are two sides to the argument because some people do realize the problem with drinking alcohol.

i ended up not using the second artticle, instead i used http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2013/04/26/daily-circuit-alcohol-tax

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/08/28/obama-to-give-personal-reflections-on-martin-luther-king-jr-at-50-year/

The articles I read were on Obama's speech that he gave on August 28, 2013 for the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. One of the articles was about what would be happening on the 28th, who was invited and stuff like that, and the other was a transcript of Obama's speech he gave that day.
The first article basically summed up what would be happening on the 28th, and told us of the recent presidents that would be attending Obama's speech, and it also told us about a screening that Mrs. Obama did the day before.
The second article was Obama's entire speech(which took a very long time for me to read). In it he constantly kept repeating everything that martin Luther kings Jr. did that day fifty years ago, and how he would be proud of the progress we've made. Also, he stated that we are all marching for a cause, for the cause that one day everybody in America will have an equal chance at work, at pay, at freedom, and at life.

This connects to what we learned about as we did our Civil War section during eighth grade. We learned about how many people in our country fought for their own freedom and for the freedom of others, and how much it cost our country in order to obtain that. We also looked at Lincoln's speech about the Emancipation Proclomation.

  3. In the first article it talked about what happened on Aug. 28, 1963. It said that at 3 pm almost 300 places will ring there bells to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the “I Have a Dream” speech. At the Lincoln Memorial, President Barack Obama and former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter will come together to ring a bell that was in a church that got burned down. In the second article it talks about how 50 years ago that Democrats and Republicans stood together trying to get equal rights for African Americans. Robert J. Brown who worked with Martin Luther King during the civil rights movement was at Martin Luther King’s speech and he said that there were Democrats, Republicans, whites, blacks at the speech.
This connects to what I learned in 8th grade history. We learned about African Americans not being treated fairly because they were slaves and they were property and couldn’t own houses. It also connects because the African Americans were trying to be treated fairly by trying to start wars with their owners and rebel against them to try and become free. We also learned that African Americans were able to be separated from their families and be sold. Martin Luther King wanted African Americans to start to be treated fairly and equal .

Both of the articles I read were about the fiftieth anniversary of Martin Luther King Junior's dream speech. President Obama gave his own speech on the steps of Washington's Lincoln Memorial about how the Equal Rights Movement since then has spread to many other nationalities and countries. To also commemorate the Equal Rights Movement, a bell rang at 3 p.m. to remember the famous quote that he said, "Let Freedom Ring". This was done by over 50 other communities in the United States with Tokyo and Lutry included. President Obama said that he will wrap up this event by doing a week of seminars, conferences, and a Saturday Freedom march. "What we must do is we must give our young people dreams again," is what Sharpton told marchers to inspire them during the march. This was all done to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Martin Luther King Junior's dream speech.
President Obama's speech relates to another event in history, the segregation era of the United states. Both articles talk about the anniversary of Martin Luther King Junior and what he did to put an end to this. Martian Luther King Junior said a freedom speech and President Obama said his own speech to commemorate this 50 years later. In a side by side comparison in the articles, they both look very similar. Both articles relate very well to the segregation era of the United States.

    2. http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/01/world/meast/syria-civil-war/

Summary: The two articles that I have read are about the civil war going on in Syria and how the President wants to get permission from congress to help out the Syrians in their own conflict. The first article is about how the government side in the Syrian war has started to use Sarin gas on its people. Though they deny any use of this chemical weapon evidence has been found. There was a photo graph in this article which showed several men unloading something from yellow bags with gas masks on. The second article that I found is about how the U.S. government wants to take action in Syria to stop all the murder going on. President Obama Stated in his speech that he wanted to get permission from congress to allow U.S. troops to take action because he has no real reason to get involved. The Syrians are not happy. Some say they want to U.S. to come in and help, whereas others say there will be a price to pay if the U.S. Get involved. I personally think that we should not get involved in their conflict, one because we just came out of a war and two because they need to figure out how to fix this by themselves.
Connection: These two articles connect to what I learned about in 8th grade (which was mainly WWI) because the same thing happened during WWI some people in the U. S. at the time wanted to join the war and wanted to fight where as others said they should just stay out of it. The president had no real reason to get involved until the Germans tried to start a war between Mexico and the U.S. Then President Woodrow Wilson had to join in and fight. So I think the what the president is doing is the right thing because nothing is provoking us to join their war.

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2013/08/30/kerry-syria-chemical-weapons-obama/2742369/
The first article I read described an event that happened August 23rd at Westside Elementary School in Memphis, Tennessee. A gun fired from inside a kindergartener’s backpack. Luckily nobody was injured. The gun and backpack were immediately confiscated by some of the elementary school’s staff members until authorities arrived; meanwhile the other children were kept calm and orderly until it was time they were to be sent to their classes. The parents of the students were informed of the situation through letters and phone calls however the district’s ParentLink system that is used to notify parents of district wide emergencies because “ it was ‘an isolated and controlled situation that occurred before the school day started and did not involve any individual or school-wide threat.’” The second article I read was describing how the US military was debating whether to attack Syria or not because they had evidence that the Syrian government had unleashed a chemical attack against its civilians that killed over 1,400 people. Despite the accusations the Syrians continue to deny any offence its civilians.
Both of these articles can be related back to the Boston Massacre. The article describing the gun that had shot off from inside the kindergartener’s backpack can be related back because the shot was an accident. Just as the child’s gun was not purposely fired the first gunshot in the Boston Massacre was also a mistake. The news article about Syria can also be related back to the Boston Massacre because the Syrian government was attacking their civilians just like the British government was attacking their colonists and then denying any sort of offence against them. Although in the Boston Massacre only 5 people were killed and propaganda blew the casualty number out of proportion, in both situations there were indeed casualties and both the Syrians and British soldiers claimed to be innocent.

From the two articles above, the both share the similar topic of military footwear. One article is stating that some U.S. military services are giving roughly $70 to each recruit to pay for shoes to wear. Some of the shoes bought are made from foreign countries. This violates the 1941 federal law known as the Berry Amendment. In 2002, the army adopted a voucher system in which they give $70 to each recruit for shoes. The Air Force had adopted this system in 2008, although the Air Force gives $75 vouchers. New Balance, an American based shoe company, stated that they can provide for the American military services, foot products of course. They are already talking and planning with the Department of Defense and White House.
This relates to what I learned from last year because we studied the winter of 1777 in Valley Forge. General Washington and his army camped there during a brutal winter. Most of the soldiers there had very little or no footwear. As they marched in the snow, there were bloody footprints. Military footwear has clearly gotten a lot better. Now, our soldiers as a country have footwear adapted to any environment they are put in.

    2- http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/29/opinion/paul-syria-obama/index.html

Both of the articles above describe the Tension between the United Sates and Syria. The article “A Brief Argument against War in Syria” explains why the United States should stay out of a war with Syria and other Middle Eastern countries. One reason is because nobody knows what the end result will be. Problems could get resolved or the situation has the potential get worse. The article “Obama, don't rush into war in Syria” is basically about how the United States should compromise with Syria and not get our nation involved with war. Jumping into a war could cause bigger problems in the long run. Declaring war with Syria could turn United States allies against us, and create bigger problems.
The article relates to the Civil war because, nobody could predict what the end of the war would bring. Problems between the North and South could have gotten worse. This article also relates to the Civil war because, declaring war was one or the decisions the United Sates government had to make. The main difference is that the Civil war was between the North and South United States instead of another country.

The two articles that I read were both about the shootings at Fort Hood and how the shooter was getting the death sentence. The articles were telling me about how this man was at Fort Hood and how he shot and killed 13 people and wounded 30. This is a shooting from one man who shot at innocent people for no reason at all which is why he is getting the death sentence. The other crazy thing about this shooting was that it was from a man who was active in the military. This will be the second military death sentence since 1961.
The event in history that I believe this connects to, is the Boston Massacre. The reason I believe this event connects to that because it is a shooting on a group of innocent people which is incredibly wrong and should be punished by death. The difference is that the redcoats weren't punished by death they were punished because the Americans won their freedom in the Revolutionary war. So the shooter at Fort Hood and the redcoats were both punished in severe ways. The shooter will lose his life and the British lost all of their new land.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/29/us/obama-commemorates-kings-dream-speech.html?_r=0

The two articles that I read were about the speech given on the 28th of August 2013 by our president Barack Obama for 50th anniversary of the famous Martin Luther King Jr.'s, "I Have A Dream" speech. One article stated word for word the speech given by Obama, a first-hand account of what happened that day. The other was just after the speech, explaining the day of the speech given by Martin Luther King, and the one given by Obama.
The first article Stated all of Obama's speech word for word. How he started out by commemorating the King family, and all of the important people who were there such as previous presidents and Vice President Biden, and also, fellow Americans in general. Then at the end of the speech Obama stated all of our victories won since then as a people, because we kept marching.
The second article stated everything that happened that day, including facts about Dr. Kings speech and the march on Washington. It also took separate quotes from both speeches and stated their meaning. Also, it showed bystanders reflection of the speech, and some of the people's remarks who were there for both speeches.
The connection I've seen between these articles and what I learned last year in 8th grade, occurred in the Civil War era, the struggles that Americans went through for freedom and equal rights. What Dr. king wanted was for us to work together as One people against our problems. How much they fought to fight against segregation, whether it be against different races, or religions, or whatever the case may be.

    http://www.haaretz.com/news/national/.premium-1.544723
The first article is words and thoughts of the Pope Francis. He wants a day of fasting on Sept 7 for peace and prayers toward the Syria civil war. He condemned the use of chemical weapons. He is in horror that they would use these chemical weapons. The next article is about Uri Ariel wanted to strike in Syria. He disagrees with Obamas delay because he thinks if we wait to strike, then more children and women are going to die. He disagrees with the chemical weapons as well but he wants to fight to. Pope Francis want peace for them and doesn’t want to strike and Couse more mayhem. Uri Ariel believes that Assad is a “Murderous coward”. The difference between the two men is that one want peace in more humble ways but the other want to fight for the peace. Both understand the situation and want to take action.
On Aug. 24, it was the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s 'I have a dream' speech. Thousands of people marched DC to commemorate his actions. This can be compared to Lincolns Emancipation Proclamation he ordered January 1, 1863. They’re very similar because Lincolns cause was to stop slavery and let everyone be equal. MLK’s purpose in his speech and movement was to stop segregation of white and African American people. Both made the effort and are big parts of our history.

After reading the two articles above I have seen just how important the innovation of the 3D printer will be to our future. In the first article the writer explains the various different brands of 3D printers and what each model is capable of. There are a number of different sizes that have the ability to take a picture of an item and replicate that item. The author talked about how 3D printers may also put companys like UPS and FedEx out of buisness. With 3d printers there is`nt a need for shipping an item when you could simply send a picture to someone and have their 3D printer make it. The second article mainly focused on the many different uses of the 3D printer such as printing guns, jewlery and clothing. It also shows you just how important 3D printing may be to our society in the future.
Last year we learned about the Industrial Revolution and how it changed the lives of the early americans. New inventions like the cotton gin and the iron plow helped make ordinary jobs such as extracting cotton and plowing fields easier. People were sceptical of these inventions at first just like most are about the 3D printers. Some people just don’t like change. How ever I believe that the use of 3D printers could help our country with so many different things like war , shipping and producing items. So I believe if more people adapt and start using 3D printers our entire world would benefit just like it did during the Industrial Revolution

In the first article that I read, it explained how while entering Syria, UN investigators were shot at, showing that tensions are high in Syria. The UN investigators were looking for evedence to support allogations that the country's government used chemical weapons on it's own people. The second article says that President Obama is waiting for Congress to give a say on his plan of firing military strikes on Syria. President Obamah's decision to seek approval to take mlitary action took place after UN investigators concluded that Syria used chemical weapons on their people, killing over 1,400 civilians, hundreds being young, innocent children.
I related these two articles to the American Revolutionary War because despite very high tensions around the world about this terrible act, and UN Investigators were being shot at, President Obama is looking to our government to give approval to take action. We fought for our independence and freedom to start a nation that was governed by its people and not one person. Our government was structured with checks and balances so that to ensure that not one person or group could make decisions that could affect the entire country. In this situation, President Obama is following the law and utilizing the government structure carefully thought out by our leaders during the revolution to ensure that his actions are what is wanted the people of America.

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-08-24/ginsburg-says-court-struck-right-balance-on-gay-marriage.html

The two articles I read were on same sex marriage. The first one talked about gay marriage being accepted into churches. Religion has always been the enemy of the gays and they had always outcast the gays. As of recently the churches are becoming more accepting of gays. In the article it says polls have shown a majority of churches support gay marriage. The second article states that the U.S. Supreme Court has reached a balance when it comes to gay marriage. They had two rulings, on that supports gay marriage yet the other doesn't legalize it throughout the U.S. This is still a major step in the gay rights movement.

This relates to what I learned last year because we learned about the rights of black people and fighting for them to be equal. I imagine they went through the same or similar struggles as the gays are now. We learned that the Civil War was seen as a fight for slaves to be set free and treated as real human beings. While we aren't starting a war over gay rights there are still walks and protests and rallies much like there was for the blacks/slaves during the Civil War.

  15. Google, along with news stations, veterans and the community, have recently reflected on the 50th Anniversary of Martin Luther Kings, “I Have a Dream” speech. To remember this speech, Google quoted and summarized the event. The logo was changed for the day, and shows a picture of Martin Luther King, Jr., along with the speech on the background of the picture. News stations and the community have reflected on it by posting little bits of the speech, reminding others what it’s about. Many people all around the world thought of how they remembered the speech and encouraged others to know what it said. This relates to what we learned in social studies last year because Martin Luther King’s speech explains how he believes black people, not only white people, should have the right and freedom to be just like everyone else. In the Emancipation Proclamation, Lincoln wrote that all slaves were to be freed. Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr. both had almost the same idea for the people. Lincoln knew that all people were equal and had to find a way to accomplish allowing everyone to know that, without upsetting too many people, and keeping the union together. They both held the same ideas, and were determined leaders, showing people the way! Martin Luther King’s speech said, “This note was a promise that all men- yes, black man as well as white men -would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” and Lincoln believed that the slaves should be freed. The Emancipation Proclamation talks about the same topic, allowing certain people (slaves in this case) to be free. Martin Luther King wants black people to be able to be just like the white people, FREE! He wanted the black people to have their rights, also known as their Freedom, just like Lincoln wanted the slaves to have their freedom. This summarization and remembrance of Martin Luther King’s speech relates to Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation and how he, just like King, wanted freedom and rights for slaves, while King wanted the same for black people.

The article that I read about is in regard to the U.S government illegally searching our cell phones and communication records. The first article discusses the difficulty for president Obama to justify domestic spying. The FBI demanded that phone companies turn over records of calls made by their customers. The author believes that this is a violation of our individual rights as Americans. The second article summarizes this issue and points out that there are many government documents which confirm that this activity took place. It also states that this is not the first time the government has ever illegally searched our phone records. This is an important issue because it potentially violates established laws. It is also considered unconstitutional by many.

This relates to when we learned about the Bill of Rights in eighth grade. This issue is considered a violation of our First and Fourth amendments. The first amendment being Freedom of Speech which allows citizens to express their thoughts and feelings without negative repercussions. The fourth amendment protects against unreasonable searches and seizures. By collecting peoples private conversations without their consent the government is violating the Bill of Rights. These amendments were intended to guarantee our personal freedom.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/08/28/us-china-crime-idUSBRE97R0A920130828

In the two articles I read about it described a very disturbing crime that took place in China. It talked about how a six year old boy was lured into a field by a woman. The articles say that she quickly gouged out his eyes and left the little boy basically unconscious and bleeding badly. His parents and authorities discovered him about 4 hours later still in horrible condition. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where they quickly bandaged his wounds. They eventually did find his eyes several feet away from where the incident happened. They think that this woman was an organ trafficker and was aiming to take his corneas and sell them on the black market. Sources say that the corneas were intact but they were not able to restore them to the little boy so he is now left completely blind.
I am connecting this article to the Salem witch trials that we learned about in eighth grade. The connection is how the people in Salem would accuse an innocent person of being a witch and then punish them harshly. This is similar to the article I read because this horrible woman basically punished an innocent person, like the people of Salem did to the supposed “witches”, for absolutely no reason at all! This was my connection to the two articles I read and researched.

    http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/lehigh-county/index.ssf/2013/08/whitehall_township_soccer.html

The two articles I’ve read both describe cases of defrauding the treasury of a non-profit organization and the consequences faced. The first tells of Ken Nolan, the former treasurer of the Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Company who is being charged with stealing almost $250,000 from the department. According to investigators, Nolan wrongfully used department credit cards and accounts to fund personal vacations to destinations such as Miami, Reno, Jamaica, China and Las Vegas. The second article says Brian Farley, the former treasurer of the Tri-Boro Youth Soccer Club in Whitehall, PA illegally borrowed more than $120,000 from the league. Farley apologized in court, claiming he stole the funds to feed his family. Being the only person with access to the league’s funds, Farley treated the club’s accounts like his own, borrowing from them whenever he needed. Farley is facing 5 years probation and 100 hours of community service.
These articles both connect to our lessons last year on the founding of the modern treasury system and how many people disagreed with the idea because it granted too much individual power. This could not be clearer in both of these articles. The position of treasurer in these two cases gave the two men a false sense of power which they quickly abused. They are now both facing criminal charges for crimes that they could’ve avoided committing with a bit of common sense and responsibility.

The two articles I read were about the attack on Syria citizens on August 21st. Chemical weapons were used, killing 1,429 people including 426 children. In the first article, it states that over the past year, the Syrian regime has used chemical weapons mainly to control and gain an upper hand on keeping the valuable territory. It also talks about how the US military is debating on whether they should attack Syria or not despite the evidence they have that Syria did indeed use chemical weapons on its own citizens. It is said in the second article, that Syria has already used these chemical weapons on the population before, but the attack on August 21st, had massive amounts of chemical agents involved. Dozens of tons of the most toxic known agent, VX and hundreds of tons of the nerve agent Sarin were in the weapons they used. Syria gassed the civilians to keep the population from going too high.
I connected the attack on the Syria citizens with when the Indians were being given small pox infected blankets. The US military I believe gave the Indians infected blankets from the infirmary, because they wanted to control the Indian population without getting suspected. Both the Indians and the Syrian civilians were killed to keep their populations in check and not going overboard and out of hand.

  20. http://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/politics/2013/08/saudi-arabia-support-egypt-revolution.html

    http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/foreigners/2013/08/egypt_s_chaos_and_revolution_the_egyptian_military_s_crackdown_cannot_return.html

These two articles I have listed describe 2 aspects of the Egyptian revolution that is going on in our world today. The first one tells who is supporting Egypt and why they are doing so. The example given in the article was Saudi Arabia, but Egypt is also trying to gain support of other countries as well. The second article tells of the toll that this revolution is taking on Egypt, such as the deaths of rebels and other civilians. It also gives an example of the firm spirits of the rebels, as they marched through the streets to be cut down and killed by government forces without ever breaking ranks or retreating.

All of this that is happening in Egypt today can be related to the American Revolution back in 1778. For instance, moth the Egyptian people and the American people want freedom from a ruler of sorts. For the Americans, that was the British, and for the Egyptians it is their own government. They are also similar in that they both tried to gain help from other countries to overthrow what they were rebelling against. America got the French to support their cause, and the Egyptians have managed to get Saudi Arabia on their side and they are still trying to bring in more help. Lastly, the spirit of those rebelling is very similar in both cases. Both had (and were able to) stick out utter bombardment. America was able to last out the British's endless cannons at Valley Forge, while the Egyptian rebels marched in the streets to have the government come out and start shooting and killing them, but they still marched on though the chaos. I find the American Revolution and the Egyptian Revolution quite similar for these reasons and many more. (But I won't bother putting those down)

The ideas of these posts are about President Obama’s decision on whether to attack Syria or not. It seems like he is having a very hard time deciding what to do. He has many people backing him up through both ideas. The first article shows how life is occurring in Syria right now. Obama seems like he wants to keep Syria on their toes, as he has not set a date of a possible attack. He will not give them an idea of an attack. The second article talked about how Obama is looking for more support on the decision to attack Syria. It states that he did not set enough “limits” for the military strike. But, it contrasts to the other side by saying that the attack is “too limited to make enough of an impact” it seems like there are many points of view on the topic.
This relates to what we learned last year because Lincoln had to make a very big decision whether to let the North and South go to war or not. This is relative to Obama having to make a big decision on whether to make an attack on Syria. We learned last year how much time and process it took for the war to be decided. Obama has to take some time and really think about the pros and cons of the descio9ns. He really has to think about all of the consequences, good and bad, just like Lincoln had to do in order to do what is best for his country.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/14/sports/football/14brady.html?_r=0

The first article that I read was about tom Brady and him being able to lead his team through tragedies like the Aaron Hernandez murder case. It also showed that the players took after Tom and didn’t do anything that they knew would get them in trouble such as talking about the case. Another thing they mentioned in the article is them trusting him in the decisions he makes.

The second article was about him tinkering with the offense to get them ready for game day. It also mentions him talking and taking over the offense to get it right for their next game on Sunday. Another part of the article is that Tom always believes there is room for improvement and is always seeking to become a better athlete and leader.

The comparison that I am making is between Tom Brady and George Washington. I am comparing these two great men because they were both great leaders and care greatly for what they lead. One way they compare is that many people stayed calm under George during the wars like Tom’s teammates stayed calm under him during the Hernandez issue. Another comparison is that many people trusted Washington’s plans even if they were a little unsure about it like Tom’s teammates trust him on his decisions. Another way they compare is the president always was messing around with things to create a great country the way Tom fixes his offense. The final comparison between these two great men is that they always strived for improvement. No matter what Washington always wanted to have the best of everything just like Tom always wants to win a championship and become the best at everything he does.

  23. The first article I chose was about the US spying Brazilian President Dilma Rouseff. They said that their freedom was being violated. it says that the U.S. National Security Agency spied on texts, e-mails, and phone calls of the Brazilian President, to the President of Mexico. It tells us that the Brazilian president may cancel her visit to the states because of this and it may lead to troubled relations between Latin America and the U.S.
I thought this was related to the curriculum because people back in the Revolutionary war used to spy on one another and attempt to intercept messages so they could find out what the other side was planning. They would catch messengers and find out what their general had planned next

the second article I found was about a 1 year old boy shot in the head when they were walking through an unsafe area with gangs. Police believe that the cause of the gunfire was gang related but they are currently investigating what the cause of the gunfire was. The shot hit him on the left side of his head by his ear. It caused people miles away from the gunshot to arrive to the scene where people were scared.
I thought this was related to the curriculum because people who were in the militia during the civil war would shoot innocent civilians to prove their point and try whatever they could to get the union to keep slavery.

The articles I read were about Americas involvement in the Syrian war. Syria is using chemical weapons against its own people, this is the worst chemical attack since 1988. The articles talked about how on Tuesday, Washington planed to attack, because the chemical weapons being used in Syria are becoming a threat to the United States. However not everybody agrees to that plan, President Obama hasn't made a decision yet. There are already American warships in the region. Other countries like China and Russia, who are Syrian allies, don't want America to intervene. Moscow said if any country tried to help, they would have "catastrophic consequences." America "is ready to go", according to Chuck Hagel. Syria is denying ever even using chemical weapons.
This current day event is similar to when France helped America during the revolutionary war. When Brittan and its allies didn't want them to. That is like America wanting to help Syria, but Syria and its allies don't want it to. Also, in history, France wanted to help America in the Revolutionary War because they lost their own war to England, so they felt it would be their revenge. Also they supported the South in the Civil War. In conclusion, America wanting to help Syria, relates to France helping America.
